I love discovering something in pop culture from the past, only to have it become relevant a few days later. It adds weight and importance to whatever you discovered and it brings it closer to your heart.
For me, this was the case with Bill Hicks. A few weeks ago, I listened to some of his standup for the first time and was floored at his brilliance, so I went ahead and posted a quote of his.
Now, just a little over a week later, The Late Show with David Letterman decided to air a lost routine of his, bringing his mother on as well to talk about it. The segment is touching and it’s a great tribute to the memory of a legendary standup comedian.
