Michael Pollan sounds like he is pushing for a cabinet position
Celebrated food author Michael Pollan was just on WNYC’s Brian Lehrer Show, where he was busy laying down the food law. Though Pollan is not officially running, he’s recently made it clear that he wants his voice to be heard. I never thought in my wildest dreams that I would be excited over a potential choice for Secretary of Agriculture, but I guess that’s change for you.
If you’re like me, and you’ve enjoyed some of his fantastic writing on food, you should click on Mr. Pollan below to head over to a Web site where you can sign a pettition to have him considered for a cabinet position. It took me all of 10 seconds:
What he may lack in political experience, he makes up for with a sense of purpose and urgency. He seems to have a broad vision for where American food policy needs to go in the future to help create a more sustainable way of living. Though it’s likely he won’t be selected to the cabinet due to his lack of policital experience, a large public push could help him get a position as a special advisor, at the very least, becoming Obama’s Warren Buffett of the food world.
