Just saw The Farnsworth Invention
This was a fun show. Like watching a live Nova program on stage. And that’s not a knock. The common criticism of the play is that it’s lacking drama. Granted, it may not be Hamlet, but I found that the scenes resonated with more than just information. Hank Azaria and Jimmi Simpson are reason enough to go and see this. Especially the relatively unknown Jimmi - the guy was just...

You're fired
For some reason, I just thought back to the election in 2000 when Donald Trump was trying to run on a Reform Party ticket. Remember how he wanted Oprah as his running mate? Oh, Trumpy… so naive. Hey hipsters of the world, looking for a new ironic piece of tchachkas to adorn yourselves with? Trump campaign buttons. Sweet.

We Don't Love Like We Used To
James Joyce, author of the 20th century’s greatest novel, to his chambermaid/mistress/thenwife Nora Barnacle: My love for you allows me to pray to the spirit of eternal beauty and tenderness mirrored in your eyes or to fling you down under me on that soft belly of yours and fuck you up behind, like a hog riding a sow, glorying in the very stink and sweat that rises from your arse,...

Do Not Go Gentle
Dylan Thomas opened me up to the world of poetry. Every time I read him, I’m inspired to write myself. And every time I set out to do it, I rediscover how maddeningly hard it is to be a poet. It’s not something that you can force. The way Thomas writes, I picture him not having any choice in the matter. The words just pour out of him onto the page. I think, in large part because of...

What's Playin' Today
SPOOOOOOOOOONNN!!! I love discovering bands that have been around for a while. After you find out you actually like them, there’s tons of material already for you to work your back through. I’ve know about Spoon since high school, but never gave them much of a chance. I got really into Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga over the summer, and since that album I’ve been really enjoying going through...

Netflix Update - Enron: The Smartest Guys In the...
This movie blew me away. A perfect example of the dangers of rampant corporate greed. In the late 90s, Enron was a company that could seemingly do no wrong. For six consecutive years, they were named “America’s Most Innovative Company” by Fortune Magazine. They were supposed to be the future of Corporate America. Here is a chart of their stock: Look at that drop-off! It’s...
